I just spent a few days stressing over what project to take on our trip to Romania, Bulgaria and Paris. I finally decided that, as usual, a baby blanket would be the way to go. There's just something about a rectangle that keeps me coming back for more.
But which one? After much deliberation and consultation in Twitter-land, I have two in mind.
I figured I'd better get started on both to see if either feels vacationy.
Here are the beginnings of a Surround Afghan, baby sized, in Bernat CottonTots yarn (100% cotton) I picked up a while back at the opening of the only Michael's store in Manhattan.
The I-cord border cast on was rather tedious, but now that is done and I'm speeding through the first repeat. I'm a little concerned about how well the pattern will pop in this yarn - the cotton is a bit nubby (and splitty) but I'm enthralled with the saturated pink.
I think I'm willing to keep going with it - but I'll likely cast on a blanket that is completely different to fall back on.
