Most recently, "there" was Rhinebeck NY for the Sheep and Wool festival. Above, you can see me cavorting with my Spider Knits buddies.
For the first time, I stayed in the "Spiderhouse" - a weekend haven stuffed with about 12 ladies busily knitting and drinking wine.
We knit and knit and chatted...and cooked!
Oh, there was SO much good food! Lolly made the stew pictured above - Sweet Potato and Peanut! Amazing! Steph cooked up some chili, Jess baked a delichious fritatta and the best apple crumble, Virginia woke up early to prepare yeast waffles! Every day was a feast!
And the leaves...they turned out in their finest colors for us.
Then there were the fuzzy things.
I caught the llama parada too.
Of course, there were some wooly-fuzzies I brought home with me, too (ones I don't have to feed or clean up after).
These three skeins of Brooks Farm Solo Silk are destined to become a cardigan for me, I believe. I couldn't resist the color and the shiny softness.
(Doo likes it!)
White yarn is tough to photograph, but there you go. I was inspired to buy this after seeing so many lovely white sweaters walking around at Rhinebeck.
And one little fuzzy did follow me home.
Who could resist this face?
Then there was the pottery, which was my favorite score this year. Jenny the Potter's stock didn't last long, but I got what I needed.
Mugs! One for Ben, one for me. And....
...a yarn bowl! Every knitter needs one of these!
