So I've posted a bit about the jam making and other pickling I've set to around here this summer and fall. I haven't had a chance to tell you about the tomatoes or or the peaches or the raspberries, although maybe I will later.
But I did want to tell you about a fabulous exchange I took part in this year! Lolly arranged the whole thing and from all I've heard, everyone considers it a success (it sure was for me!)
I sent the Boastful Baker a pint of marinara (from the recipe in the book Animal Vegetable Miracle, by Barbara Kingsolver - it's a very concentrated sauce) and a half-pint of blackberry jam. And maybe a hedgehog.
She sent me these in return!
Oh, what gorgeous gems!
On the left we have blueberry butter (I didn't know there was such a thing!) In the middle, strawberry vanilla jam, and there on the left - garlic dill pickles! I'm probably the most excited about these since I only made sweet pickles this year.
I can't wait to break into these little treasures! Thanks so much to Lolly and to the Boastful Baker!
