Ben's Clark has been finished for a while, actually ~ but you try convincing a boy to don a 100% wool sweater when it's 99 degrees out and humid! Finally I bribed him with baked goods and we ran outside for a fast photo shoot.
You can find full details on Clark here on Ravelry. For once, I conceded to the recommended yarn (Rowan Scottish Tweed DK) and let Ben choose the color (Grey 007 - like Bond. James Bond.) I adored working with this yarn, but then I am a tweed-a-phile.
Modifications: I went down a needle size from the recommendation because my fabric looked too loose in size 6. Thus, I knit on size 5s from the 40" directions even though this boy is more of a 36-37" (and needs a haircut).
(cute boy butt!) *pinch*
I'm slightly bothered by a bit of bagginess in the sleeves, but I believe that I might be able to smush them back into place when I wet block this again (or, rather, when I wash it).
The middle might have some slack, but I expect that in the future Ben will be wearing this with more than an undershirt beneath, thus sucking up some of that space with layers.
My favorite part - the shoulder detail!
Aside from being forced to model this woolly thing in a dire heat wave, I think Ben likes it too!
