"There will be little rubs and disappointments everywhere, and we are all apt to expect too much; but then, if one scheme of happiness fails, human nature turns to another; if the first calculation is wrong, we make a second better: we find comfort somewhere . . . "
- Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
There has been far too much "at work" ness these past days. The commuting, the calls, the scurrying around is about as far as you can imaging from lazy baby days.
Leading into our long holiday weekend, I am working from home today. To be even more accurate, mostly working from bed, where I have propped up a puppy, napped a baby and plugged a computer, alongside a nice open window to the world.
Working from home makes all the difference. This last bit of "working mom" nonsense has been terrible. But I will enjoy these next few days and try to forget that Monday is coming.
