They are the new big thing here in NYC.
It is a delectable splicing of the delicate, flakiness if a croissant and the the deep fried sweet and sugary decadence if a jelly doughnut.
The line was 3.5 hours, and we (Amy, Roman and I) got in around 6:40am. On a Saturday. Because we do crazy thing for unique pastries.
We almost lost out too - I was the third to the last person to get my allotted two cronuts. Those people who showed up at 6:45am? No good. No more cronuts.
The July flavor was blackberry. I cannot even express how sticky-chewy-delicious it was. I get extra points too for sacrificing my second cronut for Ben'd enjoyment (he didn't even consider standing in the line).
Although if someone had offered me $100 for his cronut (because apparently that happens)...
Then I spent the rest of the day in a sugar coma.
