Just off of the beach of the Black Sea in Sozopol, Bulgaria, we passed this innocuous little church.
No photos were allowed inside, and the lady outside (who was protecting the place, I guess) got really worked up about us being there at all. She followed us around, clicking her tongue like she was afraid we might pee in the holy water or something.
We did not linger, although the small room reeked of Frankincense (one of my favorite aromas!)
As we passed through the grounds, we saw these delightful tombstones strewn haphazardly against the stone wall of the church.
Spooky and shivery! Happy Halloween!
